Rutland Choral Society is a registered charity (since 1971) based in Oakham.  Our regular rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.00pm during term time at the Rutland Showground, Showground Way, Oakham LE15 7TW. This is a lovely spacious, airy pavilion with plenty of free parking.

We rehearse for 3 concerts a year – Spring, Summer and Christmas. Our repertoire is wide and includes whole works, light classical and popular numbers.

No auditions are required for new members. We are all-inclusive and attract members from within the county and beyond!

In addition to the concerts, we also hold 2 workshops each term on a Saturday, as well as additional ad-hoc sectional rehearsals.  Within the main choir, we have an acapella Chamber Choir which rehearses at the end of the main choir rehearsal, normally finishing about 9.45pm.

We have a pro-active board of trustees and are a very friendly and social group of people.  As well as an annual dinner which we hold in January, we also have a ‘members’ party’ where we volunteer to sing for our supper – this usually takes place on the Monday following the summer concert. You will be surprised at the talent within our ranks.
