The Smithy Belles is a female community choir of around 20 members based in Hazel Grove, Stockport. Members are non-auditioned and are of all ages and ability.  The choir rehearses weekly on a Thursday from 7.30-9.30pm during school term-time only. The choir enjoys a varied repertoire ranging from folk, modern, musicals and traditional melodies. Our ethos is to have fun whilst coming together as a group to challenge and improve our singing ability in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The choir has experience of performing in public through annual concerts, charity/community events and at music festival competitions.

The Fishpond Choir (a registered charity) is an open access community choir based in Matlock Bath in Derbyshire. We currently have 55 members with a wide range of musical expertise, some can read music, many can follow it. After over 20 years with our MD, we are now seeking a new MD for this SATB choir. We are a non-audition SATB choir with around 40 members. We rehearse on Monday evenings during school terms at The Wilmslow Academy, Handforth, SK9 2LX. We present concerts four times a year on Saturday or Sunday evenings to audiences of around 100+ people. Our repertoire is primarily classical but in the summer concert we usually perform lighter works such as G&S, opera choruses and folk songs. Rehearsals are conducted with a paid accompanist and the performances have a mixture of piano accompaniment, church organ and/ or instruments to suit the music.

Carlisle Community Choir is looking to appoint a Musical Director from September 2022. The person we are looking for will be skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated and will encourage and challenge the choir in a positive and enjoyable way.

Carlisle Community Choir was formed in 2012 and is open to everyone regardless of singing experience or ability to read music. This SATB choir numbers over 80 members and sings a wide variety of musical styles. We rehearse every Sunday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm in Carlisle, Cumbria, with a longer summer break during the summer and shorter breaks over both Christmas and Easter. During the Pandemic the choir rehearsed via Zoom and is now back to in – person rehearsal.

The choir usually gives annual concerts in December and June of each year and takes part in many other local events and performances by invitation. The choir strives to deliver performances of the highest standard we can achieve and has taken part with success in Choir of the Year, Manchester Amateur Choral Competition and the Carlisle Music Festival, where the choir won their class in 2018.

The choir is this year celebrating its 10th Anniversary which, along with some smaller social events, will culminate in a special anniversary concert to be held in Carlisle in October 2022.
