Whitehall Choir have launched an EP of new choral music by contemporary writers, including two premiere recordings.

A collaborative project between artists Holly Hendon and Mat Dryhurst: ‘The Call’ uses AI to merge recordings of 15 community choirs into a unified 'single voice' composition. 

Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst delve into the possibilities of AI (artificial intelligence) as a collaborative tool for music creation in their latest exhibition, 'The Call', currently on display at the Serpentine North Gallery until 2 February 2025. Blending art, technology, and tradition, the exhibition reimagines how we create music and interact with machines.

Orchestra Tax Relief (OTR) has not been extended to choirs on this occasion. We were not surprised, as we knew government had bigger fish to fry this time around.

As of October 2024, Making Music no longer provides DBS checks as a service.

Making Music used to act as an umbrella organisation to help provide enhanced DBS checks for our member groups' volunteers and employees. We did this through the Know Your People System which is provided by a third party called First Advantage. However, we are ending this partnership as of 31 October 2024 and will no longer be acting as an umbrella organisation for DBS checks.
