The Durham Singers are one of the North East’s leading amateur classical music ensembles, bringing together about 40 singers from around the region for high-quality performances of music from the 16th to the 21st century. The choir is recruiting a new Music Director to start in April 2022.  We are seeking a choral music director to inspire the musical development of the choir, maintaining its high standards of performance, and enabling the choir to develop its audience reach.

Market Drayton Choral Society is looking for a new Musical Director with effect from January 2021 as Ken Sterling has retired after 35 successful years with the choir.

MDCS is a mixed choir of about 38 members with a good balance between SATB.  The choir performs a repertoire of mostly classical and contemporary classical music.

Our new Musical Director will share our ambition and enthusiasm, develop our musicianship and build on the standards that underpin the choir's reputation for excellent music making.

Music Educators

West Norfolk Music Centre is seeking to appoint 2 music educators.

We operate a Saturday music centre during school term, and we are extending our provision for children. We would like to appoint two individuals to work together to deliver the following activities each week, for children in the age range 9 to 12 (school years 5 to 7): 

Assistant Conductor

The Harry Ensemble wishes to appoint an assistant conductor for the 2022 season. The person appointed would be trained and mentored by the artistic director in all aspects of choral training, vocal health and technique, score preperation, rehearsal direction and performances.

The choir would also be keen to support the right candidate in sitting one of the diploma examinations in music direction by the ABRSM as part of its season. It is anticipated that the assistant conductor would also become a singing member of the ensemble for the season.

Helensburgh Orchestral Society is a friendly amateur orchestra with around 40 members who meet in Helensburgh on Monday evenings during the autumn and winter seasons. 

 

Our long-standing Musical Director Robert Baxter has decided to step down, so we are looking for a new conductor to lead the orchestra in rehearsals from January 2022 in preparation for a concert on 26th March, ideally with a view to establishing a longer-term relationship.

The successful applicant will be conducting a well-established ensemble in up to three concerts per season in late November and February, and mid-May. We are searching for someone who can conduct the orchestra up to and beyond its current excellent standard, and work with our Executive Committee to programme and publicise our season of concerts.
