Communications and Marketing Manager Fi Simpson outlines the work of new corporate member Music Mark, and how they can support group activity with resources and networking events.
The UK Association for Music Education – Music Mark – is a membership organisation, subject association and charity. On behalf of our membership, partners, and the wider sector, we advocate for and support a high-quality music education for all children and young people. Our membership consists of music education services and hubs, their teaching and support teams, schools, individuals, students, National Youth Music Organisations, higher education/further education bodies, and hub and industry partners.
When you join Music Mark, we’ll connect you to the Music Mark community and the wider music education sector. Our events throughout the year provide regular opportunities for you to meet and collaborate with your peers, share best practice, and be inspired. Our annual conference brings together music education experts, policymakers and other industry leaders from across the UK and beyond. We run a rich programme of online events and webinars throughout the year for you to deepen your knowledge and collaborate with other members.

In addition to our network, Music Mark membership includes a range of practical benefits, such as training programmes tailored to the specific needs of those in the sector. Our ‘Music Unlocked’ guidance was widely used by teachers, music educators and practitioners throughout the pandemic as a practical tool to assess risk in and out of the classroom and help music making continue safely. Our #CanDoMusic campaign, in collaboration with the ISM and MTA, offered resources and inspiration to encourage continued music making in schools.
'Music Mark believes in the fundamental right to experience a high-quality music education for all children and young people, in and out of school.' - Bridget Whyte, Chief Executive
