Calling all singers to Cadogan Hall for global performance

Singer and brass player Di tells us about her global musical community, and their upcoming choral course in Cadogan Hall.

Back in 2021, I joined a wonderful online community, a group of amateur singers from around the world who recorded music together online. What began as a lockdown experience of singing together soon became the Stay at Home Choir, with nearly 30,000 singers: the world’s largest virtual choir.

The opportunities I’ve had as part of this choir have been awesome; over the last four years I've had the privilege of working online with some of the most influential choral artists in the world, including VOCES8, The King’s Singers, John Rutter, and Christopher Tin. It's been amazing to talk with these icons and have the chance to ask them questions and better understand their music.

We've also released five albums and premiered new music (in person) in Austria, Germany, and the UK, and Gareth Malone even composed a new piece ‘Locus Iste’ just for us.

Now, as the choir celebrates its fifth anniversary, we’re taking our next step, with a choral course in London this September. More than 250 singers are coming together from all over the world (yes, members are even coming from Australia!) for a landmark live performance at Cadogan Hall. It’s the first time Stay at Home Choir have organised an event of this kind, so it is the perfect chance for singers from all choral backgrounds to meet us all, perform as part of our choir and see why we love it so much.

Join Stay at Home Choir from 25 - 28 September 2025 for their first ever choral gala

Over three days in September we will rehearse together, receive expert coaching from Tori Longdon (London Philharmonic Choir) and Jamie Wright (The Swingles) and share the experience of singing in huge numbers: something many of us will not have done before. All this will be in preparation for a grand concert in Cadogan Hall, featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 (Finale) with full orchestra, alongside a whole host of choral classics.

'When I first joined Stay at Home Choir, I thought it would just be a way to keep singing during lockdown. But what I found was a global community of people who shared my love for choral music. The chance to now meet and perform together in such an incredible venue is something I never imagined possible.' - Choir member

You will be made so welcome by this friendly choir if you decide to join us to sing in one of London’s most iconic venues. Many of us will be meeting in person for the first time, making it an open and welcoming experience for all. We are so looking forward to it.

Places are still available in all voice parts for the choral course and both the matinee and evening performances. Making Music readers can access an exclusive discount, with 10% discount off registration using code HIGHNOTES10.
