Play4Peace on Remembrance Sunday

Join a global concert for cooperation on 10 November 2019

How quickly and successfully can you bring people together in harmony through music, communication and cooperation? It's a great challenge and #iPlay4Peace is looking for your support and participation.

Last year, musicians in 45 locations across the world came together to play a single piece of music to serve as a symbolic gesture of cooperation, peace and reconciliation 100 years after First World War came to an end. 

The project returns for a second year on 10 November 2019, with organisers again hoping to link individuals, groups, bands, ensembles, and orchestras to play one or more of three works composed for this year's event:

• Battling for Peace, for symphony orchestra, by Anthony White (view score) / Piano arrangement (view score)
• Good Friday Agreement, for SATB choir, by Clare Paddi Salters (view score)
• Winning the Peace, for solo violin, by Paul Anderson (view score)

Scores and parts for all three pieces are available to download on the iPlay4Peace Facebook page. A number of arrangments are also available and musicians are very much encouraged to arrange any of the pieces to suit the instruments or voices in their group.

The aim is for ‘pop up’ performances to take place across the world on Sunday 10 November with everyone performing on or before 3pm UK time (4pm Central European Time) and sharing on social media using the hashtag #iPlay4Peace.

How can you take part?

• Play Battling for Peace, Good Friday Agreement, or Winning the Peace, on your own or with your group and share it live using #iPlay4Peace on or before 3pm on 10 November.
• Encourage other musicians to participate in the project.
• Take a lead role in bringing together a concert of cooperation locally.
• Support the project by offering venue space or music being played locally.
• Promote the event via the Facebook group and by using the twitter hashtags #Play4Peace #Concert4Cooperation. You can also leave your thoughts and your commitment of support on the Facebook group and tweet #iPlay4Peace and #Concert4Cooperation.
