Your group's listed Making Music Group Representative and Treasurer have been sent notifications advising that the renewals for 2024 have been delayed.
Although we have a new underwriter (Finch) and insurance provider (Covea) in place, there are still some final adjustments to make to the online renewal process before we can open our membership and insurance renewals.
We will let Making Music Group Representatives and Treasurers know once the membership and insurance renewals are open, which will be this week. To help you prepare we have outlined some more information for you below.

Paying PRS fees
We are currently collecting PRS (Performing Rights fees) for performances carried out between 1 November 2022 - 31 October 2023.
As advised previously we have extended our PRS discount so if you pay PRS fees before 18 December you will receive a 5% discount on PRS fees. This applies to PRS only and not to membership or insurance.
If you owe PRS fees through Making Music you can either complete the PRS submission when the renewals are open, or complete the PRS submission separately now using the PRS self-assessment tool.
If you do owe PRS through Making Music for performances carried out between 1 November 2022 - 31 October 2023, remember to send us your programme details so that PRS can correctly distribute the money to copyright holders. You can do this:
- online: by submitting them using our Programme online submission form;
- by email: send a copy of the programme to info@makingmusic.org.uk: just write the audience size on the programme and make sure that the group's name, date of performance, venue and the pieces performed (including composer/arranger name) are clearly visible;
- post (if you can't use the online form or submit by email): just write the audience size on the programme and make sure that the group's name, date of performance, venue and the pieces performed (including composer/arranger name) are clearly visible. Programmes can then be sent to Making Music, 8 Holyrood Street, London, SE1 2EL.
If you’re not sure what PRS fees are or whether you owe any, have a look at our guidance to find out more. Watch our introductory videos and read the full guidance or use our PRS self-assessment tool.
