This has been a very unsettling time for us all and as we continue to assess how things can move forward my colleagues and I want to get in touch to offer our support and encouragement.
We are delighted to announce the shortlist for our new Making Music Awards, which will form part of an online celebratory evening of musical creativity on Tuesday 8 September.

My name is Hugh Elder and I’m an enthusiastic amateur choral singer, and like the rest of us, I'm missing singing and hearing live music. I’m also an accredited mediator, trained to help people to resolve their disputes by facilitated dialogue rather than court proceedings and to find a solution with which they can live.
Following their second Adopt a Composer workshop, the project with Rob Jones and the Edge Chamber Choir was halted due to the Covid-19 lockdown. Both reflect on the unprecedented circumstances and what lies ahead.

The UK government guidance on reopening the performing arts published on 9 July has caused widespread disappointment, so we are now giving you the tools to make your views heard.
The guidance prohibits amateur groups or groups with amateur participants – unlike professionals – to play or sing together, except in the numbers of people currently allowed to meet in public.
The long-awaited guidance to cover the first three stages of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) ‘road map’ announced last week to the re-opening of the performing arts has now been published.
