Joint Leader

The Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra seeks a professional leader, for appointment during the 2023-24 season. The postion is to be held joinly with the orchestra's current leader, on a job-share basis.

Leader

After more than a decade of very successful and positive collaboration, our current Leader Peter Fender will be stepping down from his position at the end of the 2022-2023 season.

The North London Symphony Orchestra is therefore looking for an outstanding, experienced and dynamic musician to take over the position on a long-term basis from September 2023 and help us develop and improve further.

Enthusiastic, fun, sociable and friendly amateur Wind Orchestra based in north London, conducted by Dwight Pile-Gray. No auditions. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 8-10pm (arrival from 7:45pm) at Martin School, N2 9JP

Brass Players wanted

Enthusiastic, fun, sociable and friendly amateur Wind Orchestra based in north London, conducted by Dwight Pile-Gray. No auditions.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays 8-10pm (arrival from 7:45pm) at Martin School, N2 9JP No rehearsals in the summer from mid-late July until early-mid September. Also rehearsal breaks (about a month each) at Christmas and Easter.

The nearest Underground station to our rehearsal venue is East Finchley (Northern Line, High Barnet branch) and 263 bus passes the school, with 102, 112, 143, 232, 234 & 382 also stopping nearby. Many in the orchestra also organise car sharing.

Concerts: 3 a year (sometimes extras) in Tufnell Park / Kentish Town. Concert dates for Spring & Summer 2023: 25th March & 15th July. Regular tours within UK and in Europe. Tour destinations: Isle of Wight (2022 [postponed from 2020]), Bournemouth & Poole (2018), Liverpool (2017), France (Reims, 2013) and Belgium (2007).
Our membership fees are £63/term, or £47/term concession for unwaged members. We're especially keen to hear from you if you play: trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, baritone saxophone, or percussion.
