Picking up on the discussion in the last Climate Change Network meeting in November, we are hoping that music groups will come and share where they have found or are looking for funding for climate-related projects, e.g. commissioning specific repertoire, changing their practice, etc.

MM Platform App

Making Music are happy to announce the launch of the new MM Platform app, available in the Apple App store or on Google Play. It’s now easier for your members to access the main features of your MM Platform’s members area using the app. The MM Platform App is only available to groups who are using the MM Platform Service. If your group are not currently using the MM Platform Service and would like more information then do take a look at the MM Platform service page.

Technology in Music Education (TiME)

TiME is a global alliance of music educators, organisations and music industry partners, dedicated to supporting the purposeful and creative use of Music Technology in Education.

Over the past four years, they have collaborated with highly experienced music teachers and organisations, providing information and free resources on the ever-developing field of music technology, as well as advising the Department for Education on the inclusion of the subject in the National Plan for Music Education.

Continuo Connect offers a comprehensive listing of fantastic Early Music concerts coming up near you, anywhere in the UK.  

Continuo Connect is a concert-finder for music lovers seeking the best of Classical, Baroque, Renaissance and other Early Music performances by professional period-instrument ensembles. The site is free and easy-to-use and can be searched based on your location. 

Newzik

Newzik is a digital score management and sharing application created in 2014 by music enthusiasts Jean-Louis Lasseri and Aurélia Azoulay.  

Their goal? To revolutionise musical practice by enabling musicians, leisure-time and professionals alike, to access their digital score library directly from their iOS smartphone or tablet. Newzik also enables users to add annotations to their scores and share them in real time with other musicians.

How did you manage the group before?

Our group had a very limited website, which made members feel a little distant from the choir; it wasn’t easy to use or edit and felt uninspiring, containing only three back-end sections.

Webinar recording: Preventing and managing hearing loss

In this recording of our webinar, guest speakers discussed how to prevent and manage hearing loss.

Many of us suffer a smaller or greater hearing loss as we get older, particularly if we are involved in music-making, whether acoustic or amplified. This event talked about two aspects of this: how to prevent greater hearing loss which may be due to being exposed to loud noise and/or music in your private or working life; and what you can do if you do experience hearing loss, tinnitus or other issues.
