Our sixth meeting in our Climate Network series (original event 2 December 2024) discussed some of the latest success stories from our member groups who have implemented more sustainable practices into the ways they work.
The speakers for this event were:
- Benoît André from the Making Music Green Team, who highlighted some of the most useful resources for music groups hoping to engage further with actions against climate change – covering a range of topics including; repertoire, lobbying and advocacy, travel and more.
- Dr Nathalie Huegler, a social researcher interested in topics of transition, sustainability and social justice. She has worked across a range of projects, including, most recently, at the University of Sussex Digital Humanities Lab, on 'Designing Sustainable Digital Futures', led by Dr Jo Walton. This research has explored perspectives from the arts, culture and humanities sector on the environmental impacts of digital technologies and ways to address these, culminating in the development of the Digital Sustainability card game.
- David Whitton speaking on behalf of the Big Noise Chorus, winners of the 2024 Making Music Green Award, about their group's sustainability policy.
