As a choir we are seeking a new Musical Director to take up the post in September 2018.
The Felloiwship Singers of Shirley has been in existence for over 60 years. It currently has around 40 members and is based in Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands. Choir members have a mixture of musical ability but are used to singing in four-part harmony. The choir sings a wide variety of music including classical, pop, folk and songs from musicals, and enjoys the support of a skilled piano accompanist.
Typically the choir performs three concerts a year, in a variety of local venues, in support of local and national charitable causes. The choir is itself a registered charity and rehearses on Sunday evenings from 7.30pm to 10.00pm in St James' Church House in Shirley.
Administration of the choir is undertaken by a committee of 9 members, led by a Chairperson. The Musical Director will sit as a full member of the committee and will take responsibility for artistic direction and development but not general administrative matters.
The choir is seeking a friendly, supportive Muisical Director who will continue to provide musical direction and creative energy to this long established choir and to help in the recruitment of new members.
