Musical Director

SBS is a lively, friendly SATB community choir based in the attractive village of Stamford Bridge, 8 miles east of York. We have an extensive library of secular and sacred music and we are willing to spend funds on purchasing new music. Each year we sing at one or two church services and give three or four concerts. We have also sung at a number of weddings in recent years, and will have sung at six in the 12 months up to the end of July 2023, including 2 at York Minster.

The choir consists of about 35 members, ranging in age from 12 to over 70. We rehearse in Stamford Bridge Junior School hall on Thursday evenings from 7.30 - 9.15 p.m. (term-time only).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Musical Director to continue to develop the choir's repertoire, with scope to work on new compositions / arrangements. Fees are negotiable.
