Community Choir Director - Coventry

Reports to: The Choir with No Name CEO
Hours:  6 hours per week, to include weekly evening rehearsals (ideally Wednesday) and preparation time. Extra hours for gigs and workshops paid spereately.
Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Rehearsal - £150 Gigs - £100 Workshops - £75
Location:  Coventry Central Hall, Warwick Lane, Coventry, CV1 2HA

About us:

Our Coventry choir was initially created to be part of a performance with Cardboard Citizens and was initially funded by the City of Culture initiative.  The choir was a great success mainly due to the passion and input of the members. We are therefore continuing rehearsals each week on a Wednesday evening and doing wonderful gigs around the local area. The choir is built on the premise of co-production and centred toward the strengths and abilities of the members that run it.  As a choir director you will lead rehearsals, inspire, and impassion the group to be the best they can, but also work alongside them to keep the choir going.

This is an exciting and pioneering project that is developing new ways of working alongside people who have traditionally been side lined or underestimated in their ability to input into services and projects.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced, creative, fun and inspiring Choir Director to lead the choir on a weekly basis from our Coventry venue.  You will have experience and/or an understanding of coproduced projects and working alongside people who live with vulnerabilities in their lives.  You will also be able to work from your own initiative and have confidence in leading alongside members.
