The Associate Musical Director will work closely with Aedan to establish repertoire and plan rehearsals. Ideally we are looking for someone at the start of their conducting career who would both benefit from working with a long-established and highly-regarded director who takes the final musical responsibility and also bring new repertoire, styles of working and energy to our choir - someone who is happy working within a collegiate leadership style and has obvious potential, capacity, energy and excellent interpersonal skills. Most of all they must have an abounding love of choral singing.
The Boundstone Chorus is an amateur choir of about fifty members (down from sixty-five pre-Covid), performing predominantly in St Michael and All Angels Church, Lancing. We usually perform four concerts per year. Some concerts are with small orchestras or ensembles, others with keyboard accompaniment, and with professional soloists as required. We have collaborated with other local choirs, orchestras, bands and children’s choirs, and in various venues in the wider Worthing area. We have sung most of the standard choral works, some show and lighter music and also more challenging and varied works. In 2019 we commissioned and performed a community musical "Beware The Mackerel Sky" with support from Arts Council England. During lockdown the choir ran a successful Zoom rehearsal facility.
The choir welcomes all who enjoy singing and have a love of music, although an ability to read music does help. We do not audition but always strive for quality performances.
