Congratulations to our seven groups and composers whose brand new Adopt a Composer pieces were recently broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
The culmination of a year of work between groups and composers has produced a fantastic array of pieces that are all very different and unique in character, with sounds ranging from mandolins and voices to handbells and wind turbines.
Scroll down in the window below to have a listen to the final tracks as broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on this webpage, or visit our Soundcloud page. You can also listen to interviews with the composers on the BBC Radio 3 website.
The pieces will be rescored by the composers and will be made available to members to perform for free through our Adopt a Composer legacy project.
If you'd like to find out more about Adopt a Composer, visit our project page or browse blogs written by composers and groups.
The Adopt a Composer project matches vocal and instrumental leisure-time music groups with some of the UK’s most promising composers to collaborate on creating a new piece of music. The project leads to a première performance and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. If you’re a music group or composer and you’d like to take part, find out more.
