The Winkleigh Singers commission Alison Willis via Composers Edition commissioning service for their anniversary Christmas concert.

Started in May 1984, The Winkleigh Singers had their very first concert of Christmas music on 8 December 1984. Forty years on, the choir is still hard at work making music in rural north and mid-Devon, under the leadership of their Music Director Roland Smith.

Making Music is proud to announce announce the winners of the 2024 Making Music Awards.

The Making Music annual awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of the leisure-time music community in the UK. It is an opportunity to recognise the creativity, dedication, and achievements of individuals and groups within this vibrant community who often go unrecognised. The winners were announced at an online ceremony on Wednesday 18 September.
