PMLL represents the rights of music publishers and, on their behalf, issues licenses to allow the photocopying and arranging of sheet music as part of education and beyond.

Making Music was delighted to be a part of the advisory group of the Commission on Culture and Local Government in England, chaired by Baroness Lola Young

Its purpose is to bring national, regional and local actors in the publicly funded cultural realm together to explore and communicate the role of council supported culture, including its contribution to economic growth, levelling up and addressing regional inequalities, and articulating a future vision in the context of place.

Making Music, in partnership with Classic FM, is delighted to announce the seven winners of Britain’s Big Platinum Performance – a nationwide search to showcase some of the country’s best leisure-time music groups.

Rebecca Demott of the Bedfordshire Woodwind Academy Flute Ensemble (BWAFE) describes their group's latest workshop with Edgar Divver, as part of their collaboration for Adopt a Music Creator 2022.

Last week we held a Saturday workshop so that Edgar could introduce us to each of the five movements of the Brushstrokes suite. This is the moment we'd had all been waiting for!

Vilma Weaver, Musical Director and Conductor of Coventry’s Ashira Singers, was presented with the Lady Hilary Groves Prize from Making Music.

With the occassion of the 14 June Ashira Singers concert, Making Music Board member Carol Pemberton took this opportunity to present Vilma Weaver with her Lady Hilary Groves Prize, having previously won it in 2020 for her outstanding work in Coventry’s music scene over 50 years.

Following on from a Making Music promoters event, Barbara Eifler, Making Music Chief Executive, recaps the importance of promoters and artists managers working together and understanding each other. 

Around 400 of Making Music’s members don’t play or sing themselves, but present professional musicians, soloists or small ensembles in a concert or in a festival.
