The Phoenix Singers is a chamber choir of 20 - 30 singers, drawn broadly from the Taunton area of Somerset. We aspire to high standards, challenging music and interesting, eclectic programmes that both educate and entertain. Our repertoire is varied, from sacred music through dramatic large-scale pieces to lighter folksongs, madrigals and other choral works.
The choir is looking for a Musical Director with demonstrable talent as a conductor with exceptional vocal coaching skills who will work with it to further improve the standard of the choir. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and understanding of a variety of musical genres, the ability to choose music suitable for each occassion and have an over-arching artistic vision for the choir.
The post will be available from the begining of September 2021. Renumeration is circa. £1, 600 pa.
