Lead SEND Music Facilitator

Melody Music Birmingham is seeking two freelance music facilitators to oversee and deliver the smooth running of our weekly music sessions for people with additional needs. The facilitators will also mentor, support and provide training for our developing volunteer tutors as they hone their pedagogic practice. Suitable candidates must have experience in practical music planning and delivery in SEND settings, and experience in mentoring, training and supporting professional development in others. 

Melody has been successful in securing funding from Children in Need for the next 3 years to continue its MMB provision in partnership with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The sessions take place within school term time. Each week includes 1 hour mentoring, 1 hour of session delivery, plus setup/pack away time:

MMB Musicians

• Tutor mentoring - 4.30pm - 5.30pm
• MMB Musicians session- 6pm - 6.45pm (5.30pm setup)

MMB Band

• Tutor mentoring - 5.45pm - 6.45pm

• MMB Band session - 7pm - 8pm (6.45pm arrival/ 8pm pack away)

The termly planning and training sessions will normally take place 5.30pm - 8.30pm on the Monday prior to the first session of each term.
