Musical Director

Application deadline:
Saturday, 10 May 2025
Description of vacancy:

The conductor will be required to choose a varied repertoire suitable for performance at public concerts and to be able to lead and inspire members to develop their musical skills and to perform to a high standard.

Our current Conductor has been with us for over 20 years and has succeeded in bringing some challenging and enjoyable works for the choir to perform; and is leaving to concentrate on his other musical interests.

The choir's repertoire covers works from the 16th century through to the current day in a variety of styles both sacred and secular.  We usually perform at two or three concerts during the year followed by two or three over the Christmas period.  Most concerts are held in churches and proceeds usually go to church or other charity funds.  Additionally we sing at the occasional wedding, funeral and as after dinner entertainment.

The choir rehearses on Monday evenings for one & a half hours, principally during term time, at Frindsbury Baptist Church in Strood, although we are not affiliated to any church.

The choir is run by a committee with a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and 5 other elected members.  The choir has a Facebook page but not a website:
