Assistant Musical Director

Kirkintilloch Ladies Choir is a female voice choir with a varied repertoire including traditional Scottish, classical and popular songs. We meet on Monday evenings from August to May.

We are looking for a flexible, helpful person with experience of choral singing and a good technical knowledge of music software and notation. Ability to accompany on piano, competence with social media and experience of supporting amateur music groups would also be helpful.

Job Description

Explore ways of making home practice easier and more productive - Produce practise materials with individual sung parts to assist sections in learning their parts and becoming confident of their line when sung against accompaniment and other parts. Explore other possibilities such as sectionals over Zoom or similar. The choir will acquire a MacBook to facilitate this.

Facilitate informal performances at community venues - Investigate possibilities and, if practical, lead performances within the community apart from main concerts.

Raise the choir’s profile and improve internet presence - Work with the committee to ensure online presence is accessible and easily updated

Work with the choir to facilitate recruitment and retention of new members.
