Rehearsal and concert venues: Central Haverhill  (on Suffolk/Cambs border)

Rehearsal times: Monday evenings 1930 – 2100h

Concerts: 3 - 4 per year

Originally formed in the 1860’s by a local manufacturer & enjoying its continued support, the Haverhill Singers has a strong membership including 12 sopranos, 12 altos, 6 basses and 6 tenors.

We enjoy a history of sold-out concerts and videos of performances in 2023/24 can be found on YouTube. Our concerts are regularly attended by the town Mayor, councillors, business owners and local dignitaries.

Haverhill Singers is a very welcoming choir with an age range of 24 – 84!! As a result, we tackle a wide repertoire from J.S. Bach to Karl Jenkins and George Gershwin to Bill Withers.

What unites us is the love of singing and the friendly, supportive personalities of our members.

We seek a new Musical Director to continue our success!

Ideally, applicants should have:

• a joy and passion for choral music
• proven experience in participating in choirs as a singer, accompanist or as an arranger of music for SATB.
• conducting and leadership skills (a lack of formal experience in these areas should not deter applicants with in-depth musical training)
• a professional, positive and optimistic personality with a long-term commitment to helping us reach our full potential.
