Description of vacancy:
The Dentdale Choir is seeking to appoint a new musical director to lead the choir from September 2022.
The role involves planning repertoire for the choir, leading a regular Tuesday evening rehearsal of around 1 hour 45 minutes, supporting three annual performances (normally two carol services and an annual spring concert) and working with the choir committee as required.
The Dentdale Choir is a community-based chamber choir of around 30 members based in Dent village in the Yorkshire Dales/Cumbria. The choir performs a wide a range of repertoire, including large traditional classical works as well as more modern pieces, both accompanied and a capella. The group is not auditioned but works to a high standard, producing strong and satisfying performances which enthuse and challenge the choir.
The successful applicant will contract with the choir on a self-employed basis. A probationary period will be agreed and remuneration will be subject to negotiation
