Musical Director

Richmond Chamber Choir, formerly known as Cantanti Camerati, is seeking to appoint a new Musical Director to succeed Seb Gillot, who will be leaving us after five inspirational years.

The choir, an auditioned group of currently around 24 singers, enjoys an excellent reputation for musicality, imaginative programming, and choral enthusiasm, performing sacred and secular music from the 15th to the 21st centuries. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7.30–9.30 pm at St James’s Church, Hampton Hill, TW12 1DQ.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of a wide choral repertoire and have extensive experience working with amateur choirs and professional instrumentalists and soloists. He/she will also accompany the choir in rehearsals.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 30th November 2023, with interviews for selected candidates planned for December 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to rehearse the choir on a Thursday evening to be specified. The successful candidate will take up the position ideally in early 2024.
