Choral Director

Buxton Musical Society was founded in 1944 and our musical repertoire has expanded to include much of the great works for chorus and orchestra, the Masses, Passions, Requiems, Oratorios, with other less obvious choices for further variety.

The SATB chorus of around 55 rehearses in Buxton on Thursday evenings normally from 8pm until 10pm and performs four or five concerts each year with orchestra.  There are rehearsal-free periods after Christmas and Easter, and over the summer.

Application is by a CV with a covering letter, to be emailed to secretary@buxtonmusicalsociety.org.uk by 8pm on 31st January.  The committee will invite shortlisted candidates to take a 1hr rehearsal with the chorus in February, using selected choruses from the St. John Passion.  The successful candidate will be appointed by 28th February.  Further information including a job description can be found on https://buxtonmusicalsociety.org.uk/?page_id=1526, or by emailing the address above.
