Musical Director

We are an established friendly mixed voice choir of about 50 members who rehearse on Tuesday evenings in Broadstone in Dorset, with an accompanist.

We are looking to recruit an inspiring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Musical Director, with choir training experience. Ideally the appointment would commence at the beginning of the Spring term in January 2023.

We sing mostly sacred choral works but also some secular pieces, and present three or four concerts a year in local venues. The Broadstone Choir is a registered charity, charity number 1107077. The successful applicant will be appointed on a self-employed basis with an appropriate remuneration reflecting their skills and experience.  We also pay concert fees.  We approach this with a desire to pay fair fees to a professional person within the constraints of an amateur, not-for-profit organisation.

The selection process will include an interview and, for short listed candidates, a rehearsal demonstration during the normal choir rehearsal schedule.
