Musical Director

The Biggleswade & District Choral Society (BDCS) is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Musical Director to provide musical guidance and direction to our choir members from January 2024.

BDCS is an established SATB choir of around 50 members. It was founded in 1945 and is open to singers aged 16 and over. It stages four concerts a year, performing regularly in Biggleswade and the surrounding district. It has combined with other choirs to perform larger works and has been joined by an orchestra on occasions. The choir sings a wide variety of music from the 16th-21st centuries, mostly from the classical canon but regularly stages a concert of ‘lighter’ music. Recent concerts have included Faure’s Requiem, Vierne’s Messe Solennelle and Mozart’s C Minor Mass.

It rehearses in Trinity Methodist Church, Shortmead St, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire on Tuesdays during term time from 7.30-9.30pm. Prospective applicants should forward their CV and a letter of application along with contact details of two referees to the chairman, from whom further information can be sought.
