Description of vacancy:
Avon Singers, based in Evesham and Broadway, Worcestershire.
We seek a professional Musical Director to take the reins from September.
Our current, much-loved director Matthew Buswell will be leaving us after our performance of Brahms’ German Requiem in May.
We are a 30 strong, auditioned, amateur chamber choir with members committed to exploring a wide variety of repertoire and developing their choral ability and sound. Members have developed an understanding of vocal technique under their current Musical Director and wish to deepen this knowledge and apply it to their music making. The choir has a loyal support base and have been recognised for their rich, homogenous sound at musical festivals (Worcester & Cheltenham). We have an excellent professional accompanist.
We enjoy singing in a variety of styles, which we have done continuously for over 40 years.
We rehearse on Monday evenings from 19:30-21:30 in Evesham.
