Making Music is looking for new Board members and any member of a full member group can stand by filling in this form, and asking two members of their group to support them.
The deadline for nominations by post or email is Monday 22 May.
What are we looking for in those standing?
We think it is important to have a Board which reflects the breadth of the membership, and so this year we would particularly like to encourage nominees:
- Based in Scotland, Northern Ireland or the South West
- From vocal groups
- From a promoter group
Also, to achieve a gender- and age-balanced Board, we particularly welcome nominations from women and people under the age of 35.
For those who have not been part of a Board of Directors before, we offer mentoring and support, and there is a thorough induction for all new joiners.
What does it involve?
The Board of Directors is responsible for the charity; this means agreeing and monitoring the strategic direction of the organisation.
Practically speaking, there are four Board meetings a year, plus a Board away day. Board members also sometimes need to respond to emails or be available for conference calls.
If you have questions or would like to find out more, please get in touch.
What happens next?
If more than four people stand for the four vacancies, there will be an election before the Annual General Meeting on 25 June when those with the most votes from fellow members will be announced as new Directors for a term of three years.
