Kent Opera is a music and theatre charity that delivers educational workshops and productions in a variety of community settings across the UK, but primarily in the South-East of England.
To date, we have focussed on the professional development of singers, but in 2017 we are exploring new avenues, for which we need the talents and expertise of creative music and drama makers. This is suitable for a singer or instrumentalist with a knowledge of opera.
Job Description
Delivering in-school workshops to students aged 5 – 18, by the following means:
· Demonstration of your own musical or theatrical skills
· Ice-breaker games
· Brainstorming
· Whole group and small group composition activities, whether musical, literary or dramatic.
· Shared performance
· Co-ordinating public performance where required
Kent Opera productions always respond to issues relevant to modern life and these issues will feature in the delivery of workshops. For example, our all-male CarMen tackles homophobia and transphobia.
