Choir Accompanist

National Youth Choir of Scotland

We are seeking a talented accompanist for NYCOS Perth Boys Choir which rehearses on Tuesday evenings at North Inch Community Campus. The accompanist supports all sections of the choir in an eclectic mix of music from contemporary Scottish composers and from around the world. Expenses may be available. 

NYCOS has established a network of fifteen Regional Choirs across Scotland from the Isle of Lewis to Dumfries. These choirs meet once a week during term time, where children aged 7 –18 learn and sing together with others their age. As well as singing in a group, children progress through our musicianship programme (based on the Kodály approach) and develop skills such as learning to read music, pitching, rhythm, sound production and simple theory.

In recent years, NYCOS Perth Boys Choir has taken part in Children’s Classic Concerts in Dundee and at the Light Night Ceremony in Edinburgh. Qualified Music Staff are employed to assist in the running of the choir, which is directed by Daniel Walsh.
