Havant and District Orchestral Society

Havant and District Orchestral Society, registered charity number 288747, runs the two Havant Orchestras: Havant Symphony Orchestra (HSO) and Havant Chamber Orchestra (HCO). HSO is a local amateur orchestra, and HCO includes selected amateur players from HSO plus other local players (such as music teachers), some of whom receive expenses. The orchestras perform a number of concerts during the year: HSO, mainly, at Oaklands School, Waterlooville, and HCO at a smaller venue, this year, at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Waterlooville. HSO also performs at additional venues including a concert in Hayling Island and a concert conducted by the previous year's bursary conductor. Members of the society are either amateur playing members, who pay a subscription, or concert season ticket holders.
