Piano Tutor

We are looking for a highly skilled and committed Piano Tutor to join Lochaber Music School. We operate on Tuesdays out of Camaghael Hostel, Fort William, from 2:00-8:00pm. We are looking for a tutor to take over the students of a teacher who has spent over spending 18 years committed to highly skilled piano education at the school.

Our current students range from beginner to intermediate players aged 6-18 and are supported with theory and ensemble classes where suitable. We encourage all students to take part in choir and theory classes and teachers aid in supporting this holistic approach.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

- A passion and commitment to musical education with a strong pedagogical background

- The ability to teach from beginner to advance players

- A music degree or equivalent experience

- A clear PVG/DBS check (employer will provide update or enrollment as needed)

- Available Tuesdays during term time - afterschool hours

Desirable:

- More than 3 years experience

- Willingness to teach other classes such as theory, chamber or orchestra as needed

- Active in both performance and pedagogy, or experience in performance
