Carmina Burana

Louth Choral Society and Grimsby Philharmonic Society join together to perform Orff's Carmina Burana in St James's Church, Louth.

Join us for a thrilling evening of classical music in the stunning surrounds and acoustics of St James's Church.

The choirs will be opening the concert with Finzi's 'My Spirit Sang All Day' and Elgar's 'As Torrents in Summer' and 'My Love Dwelt in a Northern Land', conducted by Alison Willis

We have a special guest appearance with world-renowned baritone, Christopher Maltman, accompanied by Audrey Saint-Gil on the piano. He will be performing Finzi's 'Let us Garlands Bring', Wagner's 'O du mein holder Abendstern' and Bizet's 'Votre Toast'.

In the second half, conducted by Karen Beer, the choirs will be presenting Orff's work with two pianos and five percussionists and the soloists will be Clare Wheat (Soprano), Rahul Jaitly (Tenor) and Tom Butler (Baritone). Our accomplished pianists for this work will be David Parker and David Beer.
