Come Carolling in Surbiton
At 7.30pm on Saturday 14 December at St Andrew’s Church Maple Road, Surbiton, KT6 4DS Kingston Choral Society presents their ever-popular Christmas carol concert.
The KCS annual carol concert traditionally features Kingston’s favourite choir performing something old, something new - and a couple of surprises. In the first half the choir will perform popular contemporary composer Bob Chilcott’s Mary Mother. This poignant and melodic piece imagines the personal story of the young girl who was visited by an angel and gave birth to a miraculous child two millennia ago.
Throughout the concert the audience is invited to join in the festive cheer, singing familiar Christmas carols along with the choir.
The KCS Christmas concert is always a jolly event, and the interval is a splendid opportunity to catch up with family and friends while enjoying mince pies, wine and soft drinks.
However bleak the midwinter, this special evening is guaranteed to be warm and wonderful. The programme is created and conducted by KCS musical director, Andrew Griffiths and the choir is accompanied by Gavin Roberts at the organ.
