About the event:

Is your music group missing out on Creative Tax Reliefs? Instrumental, musical theatre and opera groups could qualify – and you don’t have to be paying tax to claim it.

Creative Tax Reliefs (CTR) are offered by HMRC as a way to incentivize the creative industries. A common misconception is that you have to be paying tax to claim tax relief. But that is not true. Charities that have not previously paid any tax can still claim tax reliefs, and receive a payment from HMRC. All the groups we help claim CTR are charities

We have helped 80 groups claim CTR since 2017, and have claimed back almost £1m in total. We know there are lots more groups that could be claiming but aren't.

On average a claim is equal to 23% of annual production costs (that is all rehearsal and performance costs that go into putting on an event). Groups claiming have found greater financial stability and seen their production budgets grow year on year, meaning they can try new things and take more risks with their activities.

If you are an instrumental (with 12 or more instrumentals), musical theatre or opera group come along to this this event to find out more. We will look at the potential gains offered by CTR, explain how the process works and how you can claim.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions via the chat function during the event.

Who this event is for: Anyone from an instrumental musical theatre or opera group can attend but treasures and chairs tend to be the key players in claiming CTR.

Cost: FREE for members and non-members

We will be using Zoom to host the meeting, and will email you the joining link two days and again two hours before the event is due to start.
