This concert is a celebration of both history and innovation with the premiere of Daniel Whibley's Birthday Fanfare kicking off the night, followed by a tribute to Sheffield composer, William Sterndale Bennett (1816 – 1875). Marvel at the virtuosity of trumpeter Matilda Lloyd as she performs Oskar Böhme’s Trumpet Concerto, and experience Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony, a trailblazing work in American classical music.
