VACANCY – MUSICAL DIRECTOR

(Start date September 2020. Annual fee £3000)                          

Do you have what it takes to lead an enthusiastic group of amateur singers and help us make amazing music in the spectacular setting of Glasgow Cathedral? If your answer is a resounding “Yes!” then we’d love to hear from you!

Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society has around 40 members and performs a minimum of 2 concerts each season in Glasgow Cathedral. We are a separate organisation from the Cathedral Choir.

The repertoire includes both large and small scale works, mostly, but not exclusively, sacred pieces, with organ or orchestral accompaniment, and often à capella.

Our season runs from September to June, with weekly Thursday evening rehearsals in Glasgow’s West End/ Woodlands area.

Choral conducting experience is essential and shortlisted candidates may be required to audition by leading a short choir rehearsal.
