Fernhurst Choral Society

Fernhurst Choral Society (FCS) is a mixed-voice dynamic choir that performs a wide range of music from composers as varied as Bernstein, Britten and Rutter to Bach, Brahms, Dvořák, Elgar, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Vaughan Williams.

We perform three concerts a year, usually accompanied by professional musicians such as the Downland Sinfonia (previously the Fernhurst Chamber Orchestra) or Southern Pro Musica, and with talented young singer soloists, many of whom are at the start of their professional careers. We sing alongside other choirs in the annual Petersfield Musical Festival in March and perform at our own concerts in November and May/June.

Since 2014 we have organised successful and hugely enjoyable “Come & Sing” events each spring, with an open invitation to other singers to join us; and in the last decade or so we have had successful choir exchanges with choirs from France, Germany and Switzerland.
