Ryton Chorale are a well-established non-auditioning SATB choir of around 50 singers, performing between three and four concerts a year. These are normally performed in March/April, June/July, November and December. The choir sings traditional choral society repertoire from the Baroque period to contemporary composition. We have recently performed a specially written piece by Martin Ellerby, to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We have also collaborated with other choirs to perform larger choral pieces and will be performing Verdi’s Requiem at Southwell Minster in November 2023 with two other choirs and the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra.
We are looking for an experienced MD with dedication, energy and enthusiasm to continue improving the quality of the choir's sound and enhancing our enjoyment of singing. Ideally the new MD will start with us as soon as possible after the Easter break.
Rehearsals take place on Mondays in Worksop. Our website www.rytonchorale.org.uk has further information about the choir.
Please send your CV and a covering letter to the choir Chair Mr Dave Over, preferably by email to sing@rytonchorale.org.uk or direct to 2 Nemesia Close, South Anston, Sheffield, S25 5JE, as soon as possible but no later than 28th April. Interviews and auditions will take place during April and early May where you will take part of a Monday evening rehearsal on a date to be agreed.
