Chester Sinfonia

We are a group of enthusiastic amateur musicians who meet once a fortnight in Chester. Our conductor is Helen Thomas and rehearsals are held at St Columba Church Hall, CH2 1PL on alternate Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.00 pm with a short break. Our repertoire consists of symphonies and other works which are suitable for a small orchestra.

Chester Sinfonia is suitable for instrumentalists who may have had little experience playing in an ensemble before or who have been 'resting' for a while and want to get back into playing again. There is no audition, just come along and give it a go! We do not aim to give formal concerts but may perform occasionally for charity or friends and family.

We have raised money in the past to send instruments to Baghdad School of Music, which was very successful.

We ask members to provide their own music which can easily be downloaded free of charge from IMSLP. The charge per session is £3. Our venue in Chester is easily accessible by car and has good parking.

String players especially welcome!
