Nominations are now open for the British Composer Awards (BCAs), celebrating the music of composers living and working in the UK.
The British Composer Awards celebrate the art of contemporarary music composition in the UK, honouring composers of classical music, jazz and sonic art. Nominations are now open across eleven categories for works that received their UK première between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016.
The 'Amateur or Young Performers' category in particular gives a great opportunity for groups to nominate and celebrate the pieces written for them (Chris Roe's In Search of Strategy – written for the City of Cambridge Symphony Orchestra as part of the Adopt a Composer scheme – was a runner-up in the category last year).
To nominate a work visit the online form.
Nominations close on Tuesday 5 July, and full rules and guidelines can be found on the BCA website.
