High Holborn Chamber Choir is an SATB mixed vocal harmony group with a repertoire covering a range of choral works and styles, with a focus on a cappella singing. The choir sings a vast array of repertoire, from Italian madrigals to contemporary jazz works.
The choir grew out of City Academy Chamber Choir, whose performance highlights includedSongs of Travel concert at St George’s Bloomsbury, Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen at The Swiss Church in Covent Garden and annual performances in the Christmas Afternoon Tea at the Lanesborough Hotel.
High Holborn Chamber Choir rehearses in Shaftesbury Avenue on Thursdays from 7 to 9pm and is directed by Rachel Maby, whose diverse conducting experience includes both chamber music settings and chorus directing in theatrical and operatic productions, working with varied age groups and conducting a vast range of music, from jazz to classical.
If you have choral experience and would to attend a choir taster session, we are now recruiting - particularly alto and tenor voices.
