Shalford Choral is looking for a Musical Director from January 2020.
We are a small, non-auditioning choir that has been established for over 100 years. The choir was originally set up to take part in the Leith Hill Musical Festival in Dorking. The choir now likes to present a Christmas concert and a summer concert as well. The choir needs an energetic and enthusiastic person who can work with amateur singers to develop their singing and performance skills and take the choir forward over the coming years.
The choir rehearses on a Tuesday evening 7.30 – 9.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Shalford GU4 0AX
Desired skills include good practical knowledge of different styles of music and the ability to play for and direct choir at most rehearsals. You will be expected to choose the repertoire and arrange for any soloists if needed as well as be able to arrange for someone to deputise if required.
