Wanted! Players for a friendly amateur orchestra in Marchwood on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire

Marchwood Prelude Orchestra (a part of Marchwood Music Society)

• A friendly community orchestra of approx. 30 players. We play film, show and light classical music specially arranged to suit players with a wide range of musical abilities and experience
• Many of our players have joined us following a break of several years - having learned an instrument when they were younger
• Some members are learning a second (or third) instrument and join us to gain experience with their latest equipment
• Other people have taken up an instrument and find in Prelude a supportive environment which encourages people to enjoy making music together
• Several of our members are already accomplished musicians and also play in other orchestras
• We periodically stage performances to raise money for good causes
• Marchwood Prelude meets in Marchwood Village Hall on Thursdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm to rehearse
• At present we are particularly interested to welcome percussion and brass players, but all instruments are welcome for consideration
