Musical Director

As our beloved MD has sadly announced she needs to leave us by the end of the year due to work commitments we are now seeking a replacement musical director.

We are looking for someone who loves music and singing, has experience of conducting a choir, and enjoys being with the mixed abilities of a community choir, and with singers from their twenties to their eighties!  The  choir currently has approximately 7 men, 10 altos and 18 sopranos.

Our repertoire is mixed though we are currently focusing mainly on pop, folk and musicals.

We are non-auditioning, and sight-reading ability is mixed, but we do use sheet music, and often online guide tracks too whilst learning pieces.

We are lucky to also have our own talented accompanist.

Responsibilities include choosing and sourcing music (with the aid of the committee); teaching and rehearsing the choir; possibly creating or finding guide tracks for those members who don't read music; and conducting at concerts, of which we usually put on two per year, raising money for charities.

We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9pm in Bunbury School Hall, in Bunbury, near Tarporley, during term-time only.

Our mission statement is to have fun whilst singing together, and that is at the foremost of all we do, though we believe we sing to quite a high standard for a community choir.
