Holmfirth Choral Society seeks New Musical Director

Are you an enthusiastic, friendly, and supportive conductor with a passion for choral music? Holmfirth Choral Society is a non-auditioned SATB choir of around 60 members, founded in 1944. We are looking for a passionate musician to lead us into the next phase of our music making.

We meet weekly for 90 minutes of enjoyable, yet focused, singing practice. With a love for the traditional choral repertoire, we perform three major concerts each year, sometimes with a local semi-professional orchestra, along with a lighter event in the summer.

We’re seeking someone who can bring energy, positivity, and encouragement to our rehearsals. The ideal candidate will work on a self-employed basis, and foster a supportive atmosphere where our members can have fun while working hard to produce beautiful music.

Rehearsals and concerts: Thursday evenings for 1.5 hours (approximately 36 p.a., negotiable) plus 4 concerts a year.

Fee: £3000 p.a., (i.e. £75 per  rehearsal/concert)

Contract: Initial one-year term, thereafter renewable for further period of 3 years. 

Location: Holmfirth Methodist Church, HD9 7EQ
