Guilsfield Singers are a friendly, mixed choir of some 30 – 40 singers meeting on Thursday evenings at the Old School in Guilsfield, a village between Welshpool and Oswestry. Our current accompanist will be starting her University course in September 2023, hence the vacancy. We are looking for an able accompanist with enthusiasm and flair in their playing. The ability to also play the organ would be a real bonus!
The choir usually gives 4 – 6 performances a year, in Welshpool, Guilsfield and surrounding area. In 2022 we performed an Easter concert of sacred pieces, a concert for the Queen’s Jubilee then a summer concert of lighter classical pieces at Guilsfield Community Centre, rounding the year off with 2 carol concerts in Guilsfield and Chirbury churches.
The choir’s repertoire includes music from the 16th to 21st centuries, sacred and secular, serious and lighthearted; folk songs and spirituals, cantatas and carols, requiems, and medleys from musicals. See our website for further information: guilsfieldsingers.org.uk
